BODY:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
No external modification of any panel which will alter the stock body lines is allowed. Overall length and width must be era-correct as factory produced.
Carbon fiber, fiberglass, or aluminum replacement parts allowed.
Wheel tubs allowed if legal wheels and tires are positioned in stock location relative to outer fender well.
Front inner fender panels are required but may be cut for header clearance. No one piece or tilt front ends allowed.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Overall length and width must be era-correct.
Altered wheelbase allowed, either front or rear axles or both. Appearance must be era-correct (reference Chassis/Frame)
Front inner fender panels are optional but if used may be cut for header clearance. No one-piece or tilt front ends allowed.
BRAKES:
A fully functional automotive hydraulic two-chamber master cylinder four-wheel brake system adequate to safely slow the vehicle controlled primarily by the driver with a foot pedal as customarily designed is required. All applicable safety requirements apply. A factory designed parking brake system is allowed.
Era-correct electro/mechanical solenoid line lock permitted on front wheels only, any other electro/mechanical and/or electronic braking controls are not allowed.
BUMPERS:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Complete front and rear bumpers and supports as factory designed are required.
Factory stock or era-correct reproductions made from lightweight materials are allowed.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Rear bumper required per Nostalgia Super Stock requirements; front bumper optional.
CARBURETORS:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
No Dominator or Predator models allowed; no aerosol carburetors allowed.
All engines must have multiple carburetion, generally 3×2 or 2×4.
All carburetors are limited to Carter, Edelbrock or Holley model 4150 and a rated airflow of 850 cubic feet per minute or less.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Original or aftermarket era-correct appearing eight-stack mechanical or electronic fuel injection systems allowed, subject to approval of the rules committee.
CHASSIS/FRAME:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
No tube chassis allowed. Frame and/or subframes must be stock for body used or reconstruction must be consistent in design and material with era-correct function and appearance.
Subframe connectors or additional bracing allowed;era-correct function and appearance and all applicable safety requirements apply, including roll cage/chassis certification as required by NHRA or IHRA.
Wheelbase must be within 0.75 inches of stock specification.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Wheelbase may be altered,front and/or rear axle;maximum alteration 10 inches front axle, 15 inches rear axle.
CREDENTIALS:
Each driver must have in their possession a valid government-issued driver’s license subject to inspection by corporation and/or event management officials at any time.
For vehicles capable of running quarter-mile 10.00(eighth-mile 6.35)seconds or quicker, the driver must also possess a valid NHRA or IHRA driver’s license with a copy on file with the technical director of the corporation.
DOORS:
Factory stock or aftermarket reproductions allowed,appearance must be era-correct consistent with body/model used.
Both driver and passenger side doors must be fully functional and operational from both inside and outside the vehicle.
ELECTRICAL/BATTERY:
Battery may be relocated from engine compartment to trunk area, all applicable safety requirements apply.
Generator/Alternator not required.
Electric fans and/or water pumps allowed.
All vehicles must be capable of firing the engine with an on-board starter.
ELECTRICAL/OPERATIONAL FEATURES:
Heater, windshield wipers, wiper motor and radio may be removed.
Era-correct headlights and taillights required, at least one of each must be functional.
ENGINE BLOCK/CYLINDER HEADS:
No small block(s)allowed.
Dry sump oiling systems are not allowed.
No B-1 or B-2 cylinder heads allowed.
Engine block must be same type and design as original and/or available as an option in that body.
Block may be replaced with a later block of the same family.
Replacement cast iron/aluminum blocks and cylinder heads permitted provided they reasonably resemble the originals.
Aluminum blocks/heads must be painted.
FLOORS/FIREWALL:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Full floorboards and firewall required. Location of firewall must be stock.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Full floorboards and firewall required. Firewall may be relocated a maximum of 12 inches rearward of stock location.
FUEL/FUEL SYSTEMS:
Gasoline only; no alcohol, nitrous oxide or any other automotive fuels allowed.
Stock tank and system or a fuel cell and system relocated into trunk area allowed, all applicable safety requirements apply.
Aftermarket fuel pumps and regulators, electric and/or mechanical, allowed, all applicable safety requirements apply.
GRILLE:
A factory stock or era-correct reproduction grille consistent with the body/model used is required.
No covering(s) in front of or behind the grille allowed.
HOOD SCOOPS:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Hood scoops are limited to original equipment or era-style and measure no more than five inches
tall. Pro Stock-style are not allowed.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
No hood required.
If used, hood scoops are limited to original equipment or era-style. Pro Stock-style are not
allowed.
IGNITION:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Any factory stock or aftermarket breakerless ignition system permitted, including two-step wiring, electronic conversion and amplification kits.
However, no device capable of controlling traction and/or the power applied to the drive wheels other than the foot throttle is allowed, with the exception of an era-correct limited slip rear axle differential.
Magneto ignition is not allowed.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Magneto ignition allowed.
INTAKE MANIFOLD:
Original manifolds or aftermarket manifolds, cast iron or cast aluminum, allowed provided they
resemble OEM and/or era-correct design.
Indy Cylinder Head NSS-25, Indy Cylinder Head Mod Man and era-correct Tunnel ram-style manifolds allowed.
Sheet metal manifolds allowed on cars running quarter-mile 9.00(eighth-mile 5.75) seconds or quicker.
INTERNAL COMPONENTS
In general, there are no limitations on internal modifications to blocks, crankshafts, pistons, connecting rods, heads and valve actuating hardware provided the factory original design concept is retained.
There is no limitation on engine displacement.
Any era-correct camshaft type and profile may be used.
Camshafts may be activated by chain, flexible belt or gear drive. However, camshaft to crankshaft and camshaft to distributor/magneto drive locations must remain within one inch of stock dimensions.
INTERIOR:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Full factory-type upholstery and bench seat or two bucket seats required. Back seat may be omitted. However, Interior must be carpeted throughout and retain era-correct stock appearance.
Stock dashboard, including instruments, wiring and controls must be retained.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
One bucket seat required minimum; no center steering, left hand drive only.
No carpet required. However, interior must have era-correct finished appearance, including
aluminum or upholstered door panels.
LETTERING:
All cars must be lettered in an era-correct manner. The excessive display of sponsor decals is discouraged.
PARACHUTE:
Parachute permitted for any vehicle running quarter-mile 10.00 (eighth-mile 6.35) or quicker. All applicable safety requirements apply.
PERFORMANCE:
Quarter-mile and eighth-mile equivalents, 12.00 (7.60) seconds maximum, 8.50 (5.45) seconds minimum.
RADIATOR:
A fully functional radiator in the stock support and location is required, aftermarket aluminum type allowed.
REAR AXLE:
Any automotive-type axle housing allowed in any body/chassis combination, spools and/or era-correct limited slip differentials allowed.
SAFETY GUIDELINES:
Either NHRA or IHRA safety regulations apply, as required by the sanction of the event facility.
SUPPORT DEVICES:
Throttle stops, stutter boxes, delay boxes and any other such devices are not allowed.
The use of any device which enables the driver to determine the position of the vehicle in relationship to any location on there track and/or the opponent’s vehicle is not allowed.
SUSPENSION:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Stock design front suspension required no struts allowed.
Stock, ladder bar, or four-link rear suspension allowed.
Wheelie bars permitted on cars running quarter-mile 10.00 (eighth-mile 6.35) seconds or quicker;
bars must not extend beyond the rear bumper.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Straight front axle with era-correct appearance permitted.
TRANSMISSION:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Any automotive manual transmission in any body/chassis allowed, five speeds maximum.
Any automotive automatic transmission in any body/chassis allowed.
Transbrakes allowed.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Clutchflites allowed.
WEIGHT:
There are no specifications for exact weight. However, as the technical committee may determine,excessive weight reduction of the vehicle is not allowed.
WHEELS/TIRES:
Any automotive wheel/rim is allowed.
Front tire tread width 4.5 inches minimum. Rear slick width 10.5W inches side wall designation maximum.
The tread of both front and rear tires must not protrude beyond the outer edge of the top of the wheel well.
WINDSHIELD/WINDOWS:
NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK
Windshield and windows must be OEM safety glass or NHRA/IHRA approved Lexan or Plexiglas, factory-type tinting permitted.
FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL – ALTERED WHEELBASE
Windshield required, other windows optional, all subject to safety requirements.

All potential NSS and FX/AWB vehicle owners and drivers applying for membership are subject to approval by a majority vote of these members.
