2022 GLD Mopar Days

Union Grove Mopar Days the second part of the double header we had this past weekend also had excellent weather with temps in the 80’s both days. The only problem was with the program starting around 3:30 on Saturday our first run was scheduled for 4:40 pm and it didn’t take place due to  a crash on the track that took the life of a Chicago Wise Guy’s driver. The sheriff’s department closed the track down to do their investigation of the incident. It was called around 5:30 the track racing was called off for the rest of the night.

There were allot of AMC cars there due to the National  AMC show being held in Kenosha for several days. We also had a “RC”  drag race event going on all weekend on the “drifting track” on the west side of the premises. Participants were there from all over the country. A $ 20 K purse was at stake for this event.

We did resume our racing on Sunday in which we were able to complete three runs with the last being around 4 pm. Marcel thanked me for having cars there to help put on their Mopar event.

I want to thank our drivers and crew for “hanging in there” and making it through the weekend. They were Chris & Jaynie Heuton, Dan Kuenster, Rich Berlisk, Howard Crull, Joe Szydlo, Ken Kinnucan, Gordy Long & Kelly Kukla Dan Hradisky, Mark Mullarky.
